LED lighting often saves more than 50% of electricity compared to conventional light sources such as fluorescent tubes, mercury vapor lamps (HPL / HQL), metal halide (HPI / HQI) and high-pressure sodium (SON / NAV).

Thanks to motion sensors, the light will burn at full strength as soon as the sensor detects a movement of a person or machine (forklift truck). If there is no more movement, the light goes out or stays on at an orientation lighting level for safety.
In the case of daylight sensors, the electronics ensure that there is always the desired light level on the work floor. With a lot of natural light incidence (i.e. daylight domes or windows), the LED fixtures dim down to the desired light level, which results in extra savings. If daylight incidence is reduced by clouds or dusk, the light output of the LED fixtures is increased to the desired preset light level. This is fully automatic proces.

All over the World, governments impose increasingly stringent rules and regulations on companies in the area of reducing CO2 emissions. In line with the Paris climate agreement, governments are not only imposing stricter rules and regulations on companies, the penalties are also being imposed higher and faster.
Many local authorities such as municipalities, require owners and users to upgrade their business premises to a higher energy (e.g. label A) to obtain or renew an environmental permit for example. This is only possible if the lighting in the building is also being modernized with LED.

For safety, a good light quality is very important. Studies have shown that better light leads to safer working conditions. Especially in industrial environments, with interactions between man and machine, it is important that sight and visibility are good. Wearing a safety helmet, jacket and shoes are now mandatory in most production environments. But often there is no safe light level.
In factory halls with conventional lighting, the light level was sufficiënt at the time of the purchase, often many years ago. Over the years the light output of the lighting fixtures have decreased. In the case of gas discharge lamps and fluorescent tubes, this can go down to as much as 50% of the original light output. In addition, fixtures get dirty due to dust and/or (welding) vapors, for example. Dust and dirt will burn into the reflector, which will turn brown and will no longer reflect properly. Furthermore, if it has one, the glass cover will get dirty as well. This results in a significant reduction of the efficiency of the fixture.
The fixtures that Yourlight offers are typically dust and spraywater-proof so that the fixtures maintain their high efficiency. In addition, we always use the most high-quality LEDs and electronic drivers from A-manufacturers. These LEDs won’t lose more than only 20% in light output during their lifetime.
We recommend companies that want to create safe working conditions for their employees to meet the European Norms (EN) when it comes to lighting. For work lighting in indoor spaces, this is European Norm EN 12464-1. Insurers also look strictly at the lighting conditions in case of a calamity with damages or victims. At this moment, governments no longer allow certain light sources for company lighting, such as mercury vapor lamps (HPL/HQL). These light sources are therefore no longer readily available. Because they are so inefficient and environmentally harmful, these lamps will disappear completely over time. Major manufacturers such as Philips, Osram, and GE have also stopped producing these types of lamps. Furthermore, the ballasts which are required to ignite the light sources are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. These conventional devices have already disappeared or will disappear completely in the near future. Lighting is a determining factor in production industrial buildings. If the lighting fails and repalcement light bulbs are no longer available, business continuity is at stake.

Especially when there is daylight incidence in the building, or if there are spaces in the building where people are not continuously working during working hours, we advise using a dynamic lighting solution. Modern intelligent sensors can “see” whether there is enough light at a certain place so that the fixture it controls can be dimmed or perhaps can be switched off completely. If there are places in the building where people are not present for extended periods of time, in these areas the light can be dimmed to orientation level (say 10% of the maximum light output).
