Many yards are still illuminated by huge energy-consuming fixtures. We have the solution for a sustainable, high-quality and affordable alternative to your outdoor lighting.
1. Cost and energy savings
With modern LED lighting, huge savings can be realized on energy consumption and on costs.
LED lighting often saves more than 50% of electricity compared to conventional light sources. Usually, sites are illuminated with High-Pressure Sodium (SON / NAV) or Metal Halogen (HPI / HQI) and in some odd cases with very old-fashioned Low-Pressure Sodium (SOX) fixtures that give a monochromatic light image. For this type of gas discharge light sources, we have good LED alternatives that are suitable for the outdoor area.
When using dynamic lighting solutions, the savings can even exceed 80%. This could include controlling LED fixtures via intelligent electronics by using sensors.
As far as motion sensors are concerned, the light will switch on at full strength as soon as the sensor detects a movement of a person or machine on the yard. If there is no more movement, the light switches off or stays on a orientation lighting level for safety.
Almost all LED fixtures that we offer are or can be equipped with dynamic lighting solutions.
2. Less maintenance
Replacing light sources in bad weather and high masts is no sinecure. Apart from the costs of renting a platform, the labour costs have to be taken into account. Fixtures in the outdoor area are often difficult to open for changing a light source because the screws are corroded and fixed. Certainly, if a ballast is broken and needs to be replaced, that can be a considerable task. Replacing lamps in a luminaire at a height in the outdoor space therefore often takes a lot of time and money.
LED fixtures from Yourlight require no maintenance, which saves considerably on maintenance costs.
3. Sustainability
Meanwhile, everyone is convinced that it is important to save energy to reduce CO2 emissions in order to reduce climate change and protect the planet. This has led, among other things, that many companies impose sustainability targets themselves.
Lighting solutions from Yourlight contribute directly to the sustainability objectives of our customers. Do you want to know how you can make yourself more sustainable with new LED lighting?
4. Stricter government rules, regulations and sanctions
In line with the sustainability objective that companies impose on themselves because they want to take responsibility and want to contribute to a better environment, one can see that worldwide governments are imposing ever stricter rules and regulations on CO2 reduction. In line with, inter alia, the Paris climate agreement, it can be seen that governments not only impose stricter requirements on companies, the sanctions are also being imposed higher and faster.
Many local authorities such as municipalities, require owners and users to replace lighting on their yards and car parks with energy-saving alternatives. If an adjustment is not made, an environmental permit can, for example, be refused or withdrawn, or a fine may apply.
In order to meet the requirements, avoid sanctions and be ready for the future, switching to energy-saving LED lighting of Yourlight is the best solution. If you would like to know more about the requirements and sanctions imposed by the government for making the lighting more sustainable, please contact us.
5. Better light increases labour productivity
Many scientific studies have shown that better visibility leads to an increase in labor productivity. People see their work better and therefore they can work faster. It has also been demonstrated that people with higher light quality and therefore better vision, make fewer mistakes.
In order to determine the quality of light, the Color Rendering Index (CRI) is particularly important. The correct colour temperature (K) also influences light quality and important in industrial environments.
The luminaires that are part of the (industrial) lighting solutions of Yourlight all have a CRI of Ra> 80. Depending on the application and in consultation with the customer, we deliver the optimal colour temperature.
6. Better light increases the safety
Better light quality is also important for safety. Scientific studies have shown that better light leads to safer working conditions. Especially in areas where man and machine interact, it is important that the visibility is good. Wearing a safety helmet, jacket and shoes are now mandatory in most company areas. But often there is no safe lightlevel.
In many areas where conventional lighting is still used, the light level when purchasing this lighting was adequate. However, the light output of the lamps decreases over the years. In the case of gas discharge lamps such as SON and HPI, this can go down to only 50% of the original light output. In addition, luminaires are contaminated by environmental contamination, such as rain, insects and salty air. Dust and dirt will burn into the reflector, which will turn brown and will no longer reflect properly and the cover glass will get dirty. Reasons that ensure that the efficiency of the fixture can decrease significantly.
The luminaires that are part of the lighting solution that Yourlight offers, are always dust and waterproof (at least IP65, but often IP66 or IP67) so that the luminaire maintains its high efficiency. In addition, we always use the most high-quality LEDs from A-manufacturers. These LEDs only return about 20% in light output during their lifespan, which these manufacturers can also demonstrate.
It is advisable for companies that want to create safe working conditions for their employees, must comply with the European Standards in the field of lighting. For area lighting in the outdoor area, this is the EN 12464-2. Insurers also look strictly at the lighting conditions in the unfortunate case that there is a calamity with (human) damage. We are very well informed about the standards and can provide you with excellent advice in this area so that you offer your employees safe working conditions and also meet the requirements insurers set.
7. Business continuity
Because governments no longer allow certain light sources, such as mercury vapor lamps (HPL / HQL), these light sources are no longer readily available. HPI / HQI and SON / NAV will follow soon. Because they are so inefficient and environmentally harmful, these lamps will disappear completely over time. Major manufacturers such as Philips, Osram, and GE have already largely stopped producing these types of lamps. Also, the ballasts needed to ignite them are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. These conventional devices have already disappeared or will disappear completely from the market in the short term. Lighting on company premises is often a critical condition for production. If the lighting fails and is no longer available, business continuity is at stake.
To prevent this, Yourlight has high-quality, reliable and attractively priced lighting solutions.
