RWG – Maasvlakte 2 – Rotterdam, The Nethelands
At the brand new fully automated Rotterdam World Gateway container terminal, a lighting solution of Yourlight was chosen for both the yard and the STS cranes.
Yard
RWG chose a modern energy saving white light solution of Yourlight over an old fashioned yellow light solution. Compared with the original lighting plan presented in the tender documents in which high-pressure sodium luminaires (yellow light) ware prescribed, RWG now achieves energy savings of approx. 40%. At the same time, safety conditions improved due to the daylight spectrum of the Yourlight luminaires. Partly due to the choice of RWG for the energy-efficient solution of Yourlight, its new terminal on the Maasvlakte 2 is one of the most “green” terminals in the world.
Harbour cranes
In addition, RWG has opted for the robust, vibration-resistant luminaires on its new extra-high Super Post-Panamax Quay Cranes from ZPMC. This achieves energy savings of more than 60%, while the daylight spectrum of the white light provides extra safety and increases the productivity of the cranes.
