APM-Terminals – Gothenburg, Sweden
Good visibility for safer, faster and error-free work and no maintenance costs for at least the next 15 years.
These challenges, combined with a rock-solid service organization, have led APM-Terminals to choose our LED solution in Gothenburg. 1000W SON-T replaced one-on-one by 300W LED.
The photo above shows Stella 300W LED luminaires, which were placed where the old gas discharge lamps used to be. Especially the photo shows how beautifully the light is distributed evenly on the quay floor.
Can you actually replace 1000W High Pressure Sodium (SON-T) with only 300W LED? The SON-T lamps give a very high lumen output that is hardly inferior to that of LED?
Yes, as long as you use the right luminaires with the right lenses. Prismalence from Sweden has specialized in bringing light where it is needed through advanced lenses since it was founded in the mid-1970s. In addition, the luminaire efficiency is important, that is, how much of the light that the light source produces actually comes from the luminaire? This is a lot higher for these modern LED luminaires than for the old large boxes with SON-T lamps in them.
The Prismalence luminaires shown here are maritime proof with a robust C5M coating and extremely vibration resistant up to more than 5G. It is precisely this high quality that made APM-T decide to opt for this solution.
